A little update from Aware Women

Amy Ware

Thank you for supporting Aware Women – the heart-centred digital mental health platform for busy New England Women.

I hope this update finds you well and that life has been treating you kindly. I am writing to express my gratitude for your trust and support as a valued client of Aware Women – which you may have noticed has evolved from Aware Family Wellness. Your journey towards improved mental health and well-being is of utmost importance to us, and I am committed to continuously enhancing my services to meet your evolving needs.

I am excited to share with you some important changes I have made to Aware Women, which I believe will significantly enhance your experience and access to care. As of 2023, I have transitioned to a women-centred mental health practice, focusing on supporting women aged 16 and above for all new clients. This allows me to provide tailored and comprehensive care that addresses the unique challenges and experiences faced by women throughout their lives. Please note that this does not apply to any existing clients.

In addition to a refined focus, I have made adjustments to my working hours to accommodate personal commitments. Moving forward, I will be available for consultations from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Furthermore, I will now be offering sessions from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesdays. As of January 2024 I will review whether Saturday sessions will continue. These revised hours are designed to ensure that I can provide you with the highest level of care and attention during our sessions whilst also honouring my own needs for family time and self-care.

If you are a current client and have scheduled appointments that fall outside the updated hours of operation, I kindly request that you reach out as soon as possible. I understand that this adjustment may require some flexibility on your part, and I’m committed to finding a solution that meets your needs. I am more than willing to negotiate alternative appointment times within the revised schedule. My primary goal is to ensure continuity of care and support during this transition. If, for any reason, the new schedule does not align with your availability,I am also prepared to assist you in finding an alternate provider who can accommodate your preferred appointment times. Your well-being and progress remain my top priority, and we are committed to facilitating a smooth and seamless transition for you. If you have been on my waiting list, please note that future appointment times will only be offered during the above hours.

You are now also able to manage your bookings online via our Client Booking Portal.

For ease, I have only made one appointment type available – which is the standard counselling appointment. When you make the appointment, you’ll receive a return email with a number of forms for completion. If it has been longer than six months since you saw us, please update the forms so I have up-to-date information.

I am also excited to announce that commencing in 2024, our services will be offered exclusively through Telehealth. Telehealth provides numerous benefits that we believe will greatly enhance your experience and access to care. Some key advantages of telehealth include:

  • Convenience: With telehealth, you can now receive therapy from the comfort of your own home or any other private space that suits you best. This eliminates the need for commuting and allows you to save valuable time and energy.

  • Flexibility: By removing the constraints of in-person appointments, telehealth offers greater flexibility in scheduling sessions. You can now find appointment times that align with your busy life more easily.

  • Privacy and Confidentiality: Telehealth sessions are conducted securely and confidentially, ensuring that your privacy is protected throughout our interactions. Rest assured that we employ robust security measures to safeguard your personal information.

As part of my commitment to leveraging technology for better mental health outcomes, I have implemented the Monsenso mHealth digital app. This app serves as a valuable tool to support your therapy journey. Through the Monsenso app, you can track your mood, set goals, access helpful resources, and communicate with me securely between sessions. The app is user-friendly and designed to empower you with self-reflection and self-care tools, enhancing the progress we make together during our sessions. You will receive a separate email inviting you to the platform, but in the meantime you can watch a video here. Once you have received the invitation, simply download the Monsenso mHealth app from your App Store on a mobile or tablet and login.

Additionally, I am thrilled to inform you that I am actively exploring the interest in offering online therapeutic groups, workshops, and women’s circles. These collective settings can provide a powerful platform for growth, support, and connection among women facing similar challenges. Here are some examples of the initiatives we are considering:

  • Online Therapeutic Groups: These groups bring together a small number of women who share common experiences or concerns, such as anxiety, self-esteem, or life transitions. These groups offer a safe and confidential space for sharing, learning, and mutual support.

  • Workshops: Workshops will focus on specific topics relevant to women’s mental health and well-being. These interactive sessions will provide valuable tools, insights, and strategies to empower you in your personal journey. Topics may include stress management, boundary setting, self-care practices, and building healthy relationships.

  • Women’s Circles: Women’s circles create a sacred space for women to come together, share their stories, and support one another in a non-judgmental environment. These circles foster connection, self-reflection, and personal growth. Through guided discussions, mindfulness exercises, and rituals, women’s circles can be transformative and empowering experiences.

If any of these offerings pique your interest, I would love to hear from you. Your feedback and input will help me gauge the demand and shape future initiatives accordingly. Please feel free to each  via amy@awarewomen.com.au to express your interest or to suggest any specific topics or formats you would like to see in these group settings.

I firmly believe that by fostering a sense of community and harnessing the collective wisdom and support of like-minded women, we can deepen the impact and benefits of mental health services.

Lastly, I would like to address a change in our pricing structure. With the transition to telehealth and in consideration of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), as of 1st July 2023 there will be a price increase to $200 per session. This adjustment enables me to maintain the high quality of care you deserve. (Fees may differ depending on whether Third Party payments are in place). Please note that as of January 2024, any existing bulk-billing arrangements will unfortunately cease.

I want to assure you that your ongoing progress and well-being remain my top priority. I am committed to providing you with the highest standard of care, and believe these changes will enhance your overall experience as I continue to support you on your journey to improved mental health.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these updates or any other matter, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Feedback is valuable to me and I am always here to address your needs and ensure your satisfaction with Aware Women.

Thank you once again for your trust and support. It is an honour to accompany you on your path to personal growth and well-being. Together, we can navigate the challenges and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

Warm regards,

Amy Ware
